Nail Buffer

So before I really get into exactly how to use a nail buffer it is a good idea that you fully understand what exactly a nail buffer is and what it is used for. A nail buffer is a type of nail file that is used to smooth the nails and remove any ridges or pits that might be in or on the nail, this can happen in both false nails and in real nails. Basically it is very similar to buffing your car and taking the pits, ridges, and scratches out! The coarse side of the nail buffer should be used on and ridges that are sticking up so that they are smoothed back down. Make sure that you do not over buff your nails because you can make them a bit too thin if you keep going. Although a nail buffer is not a file it can thin them out very fast if your not careful. The fine side of the nail buffer is for removing any roughness that might be on the nails due to using the coarse side of the nail buffer or from the nail it itself. Typically a nail buffer is used on false nails like acrylics.

Now that you know what a nail buffer is it is important for you to know how to use one correctly. Although a nail buffer is typically used on false nails, like acrylics, many women will use them on their natural nails. Either way you will need to be very careful that you do not over do it! To start with make sure that there is no polish on your nails and that they are in the length and general shape that you desire. Even though the nail buffer is a type of file they are not good for changing the length and shape of your nail. Once you have that completed you can start to buff your nails. Start with the coarse side, and remember to be careful. Rub the nail buffer across your nail like you do with a file and remove the large ridges that might be sticking up as well as smoothing down any bumps or sharp spots. Now that you have them smoother you can flip the nail buffer over and smooth the nail out. Remember to be careful and not make your nails too thin. As you finish up with the fine side of the nail buffer you might even see that your nails start to develop a bit of shine to them. Not all nails will develop a shine to them when you use a nail buffer but some of them will, so do not panic if yours do not.
